This time, I created a desk lamp with a linear shaft structure—from design to assembly to that magical moment when the light turned on, the whole process was more fun and fulfilling than I expected.
Design Inspiration: Mechanical Structure × Soft Lighting
The inspiration behind this DIY lamp came from my pursuit of balance between structural aesthetics and atmospheric lighting.
I chose an adjustable linear shaft system as the main framework, paired with lightweight acrylic panels and a soft paper shade. The result? A harmonious contrast of industrial precision and warm, diffused light.
No extra decoration, just the essential components and function—exactly how I imagine the perfect ambient lamp should be.

I was a bit nervous at first about assembling it myself. But once I started, it was incredibly addictive.
From inserting each linear shaft and securing every steel connector, to plugging it in and watching it glow—it's a process full of satisfaction.
